Rajkot Management Association (RMA) is a non-political, Not – for – Profit, Social organization established in 1989, also registered under The Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Gujarat/460/RAJKOT, Dt. 09 – 11 – 1989). It has a glorious past.
Any Nation, State, region, society or an organization wants progress, it has to run on established scientific, morally correct principals, policies and practices. With an aim to inculcate good Management practices in all walks of life, Rajkot Management Association was formed as a Local Management Association (LMA) under aegis of All India Management Association (AIMA), New Delhi, established itself in 1957. There are 68 such Local Management Associations all across India.
To fulfil its aim to spread good management practices in all walks of life, RMA has 3 distinct verticals, Business (to cater industries, business, trade), Academia (for all academic institutions and students affiliated with them) and Community (for all social organizations, local municipality and local government organizations), headed by 3 Vice Presidents. RMA has an Executive Council consisting of Chairman (Immediate Past President), President, 3 Vice Presidents, Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurer, Executives Committee Members, Co-opt members and special Invitees. The EC meets regularly to plan all activities of RMA. It has a well-defined Constitution to guide it.
RMA regularly holds online and offline programs like managerial Talks, Seminars, Symposiums, Training Workshops, book talks, industrial visits on its own or in collaboration with AIMA, American Society for Quality (ASQ), or local like-minded bodies like District Industries Commissioner (DIC), Rajkot Engineering Association, Rajkot Chamber of Commerce and Industries, ASSOCHAM, Indian Medical Association, Rotary Club, Jain Social Group, local Universities like Saurashtra University, Marwadi University, Darshan University, Atmiya University, RK University, Sunshine Group of Institutions, Rajkot Traffic Police branch for benefit of above stakeholders, runs a website and publishes a Newsletter to communicate with its members and the public at large.
Some notable, large-scale programs include Beware (short form of Be Aware) program in 2015 in collaboration with Rajkot Police to caution general public against housebreaking and roadside theft, connecting with at least 1500 households, National level Shaping Young Minds Program (SYMP) in January 2020 at Pramukh Swami Auditorium, involving 650 students from various universities, the visiting faculties included a Padma Bhushan awardee journalist, an Indian Ambassador, a Former Director of Tata Group and an Executive Vice Chairman of a prominent industry house to share their success Mantra and quench young minds’ enquiries, Super 50, an intensive youth grooming program for Rajkot’s 50 youths for their career or entrepreneurship readiness in 2020, World MSME Day celebration and a special seminar to connect with 300 + industrialists at REA Auditorium in June 2024 are worth mentioning.
